Best Employers Eastern Region was a biennial survey-driven initiative measuring employee engagement, culture, development and wellbeing across organisations in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Produced in collaboration with our sponsors Birketts(Opens in a new tab), the initiative identified and celebrated the region's best employers over multiple successful cycles. Following the 2025 programme, the initiative has now concluded.
eras and Pure(Opens in a new tab) created the Best Employers Eastern Region initiative to identify and promote the region's best employers. Giving organisations the opportunity to learn about, embrace and develop their company's culture and values through employee engagement. It is now widely recognised that this had a positive impact on key organisational outcomes: profit, turnover, productivity, innovation, customer focus, wellbeing and attendance.

Best Employers Eastern Region was a long-running biennial survey-based initiative run by eras in partnership with Pure Resourcing Solutions. Following the 2025 programme, the initiative has now concluded.

The initiative focused on identifying the Best Employers in the Eastern region, including Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Participating organisations asked their employees what they really thought, enabling them to create positive strategies that truly put employees at the heart of their business — essential for hiring and retaining top talent. Each cycle included inspiring speakers and practical tips for making the most of survey results and engagement strategies. The Culture & Engagement Survey is written and owned by eras and has been completed by many thousands of employees, both in the UK and Internationally. During each programme cycle, the survey was made available free of charge to participating organisations. It is 100% confidential, encouraging open and honest answers from employees providing an authentic reflection of your company culture, engagement and wellbeing levels.
Each cycle culminated in an awards event to celebrate the best in the Eastern Region. All participants were automatically entered for a series of awards, according to the size of their organisations and sector in which they operated. In addition to the awards, accreditations were also conferred to organisations that performed particularly well.
